Paula's Cave Tour

Discovered roughly 100 years ago, Paula’s Cave was named after the archaeologist that discovered the site. Unfortunately the paintings haven’t weathered well, and were only declared a national monument in 1951.

The cave is believed to have had significant spiritual meaning to the ancient Bushmen, and houses a number of ancient drawings that depict red-haired humans with extended bodies, several animals including those of elephant and rhinoceros, a group of black men with arrows, several pregnant women, and other figures holding hands.

You can enjoy a scenic drive while watching for game before ending at the caves to view the paintings and take in the history of these nomadic tribes.
